Bubble Tea | Recipe from Scratch

Chewy, sweet boba coupled with milky smooth tea; this drink is definitely popular amongst children and adults alike. Learn how to make this popular drink with my foolproof recipe!

Bubble Tea | Recipe
Yields: 1 cup of bubble tea/ 1 serving

Ingredients:
2 cups of hot water,
1/4 cup of quick cooking boba,
Honey or Agave syrup,
1 black tea bag,
1-2 tbsp of condensed milk (plus more to adjust to your desired sweetness)

Method
1. On a medium to high heat, place the 2 cups of hot water into a pan and let it boil. Add the boba and let them cook for around 5 minutes or until fully cooked through and chewy.
2. Drain the boba completely once cooked, and quickly run under cold water to stop them from overcooking.
3. Place boba into a bowl and soak well in honey or agave syrup. Set aside.
4. Place the black tea bag into a cup and pour in hot water. Let it steep for three minutes.
5. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of condensed milk into the tea and mix until milky.
Remove the tea bag.
6. Place the boba into the bottom of a glass/tumbler. If desired, drizzle condensed milk on top of the boba.
7. Pour the tea on top of the boba and serve immediately warm with a jumbo straw. Alternatively, cool the whole drink in the fridge for a few hours and serve cold. I advise not adding ice into the drink to make it instantly cool as this dilutes the tea and therefore the flavour of the drink, therfore make sure to make this ahead of time if you would like to serve this cold!
